The kind of fan base that Salman Khan enjoys is insane and one need not to be led into believing that the epic proportions of his followers alone can mint millions of dollars at ticket counters. Why? Because perhaps Salman is the only superstar in India on whose films one can reckon upon when it comes to box-office. But this time it seems that his fan base possesses an ambivalent attitude of their loyalty to bhai.
'Tubelight' released on June 23 during the Eid just like previous years. But as was the expectation (or not?), it didn’t do fairly well at the box-office. It collected Rs 21.15 crore according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Not that this figure is any bad. A film which opens to more than Rs 20 crore is more often than not stamped as a decent money spinner. But as far as Salman is concerned this figure cannot be equated anywhere near to a roar in the revenue front.

According to boxofficeindia.com, 'Tubelight' collected Rs 6.5 crore in UAE-Dubai where the film was released on June 22, a day before India release.
Now that there is a weekend ahead and Monday is a national holiday in India owing to the Muslim festival Eid, it would be interesting to see how 'Tubelight' fairs in terms of money.
'Tubelight' is a war drama and is based on 1962 Indo-Sino War. Salman plays the role of a simpleton who goes into grief when his brother Sohail Khan departs to the war-front. The film is more about faith and less about the war.

Clearly he intends to graph us through the itinerary of Salman’s previous Eid releases. Juxtaposing all one after the other, it is very clear that 'Tubelight' is Salman’s lowest first day opening in 5 years. His last film 'Sultan' had collected more than Rs 35 crore on the first day itself.Salman and Eid - Day 1...— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 24, 2017

Only 'Bahubali 2' this year had better first day opening than 'Tubelight'. We all know 'Raees' minted more than Rs 330 crore and Jolly LLB 2 approximately Rs 250 crore. So it can be safely said that despite of the relatively bad first day opening, 'Tubelight' will surely surpass the 200-crore mark.Top 5 openers - 2017:— taran adarsh (@taran_adarsh) June 24, 2017

2 #Tubelight ₹ 21.15 cr
3 #Raees ₹ 20.42 cr
4 #JollyLLB2 ₹ 13.20 cr
5 #BKD ₹ 12.25 cr
