In 1910, 16 year-old Sonra Dodd of Washington heard a speech on Mother’s Day. Her mother had died during Sonra’s childbirth and she was raised by her father, all alone. Young Sonra thought that fathers too hold a very special place in lives of every child and they should be celebrated and honoured as equally as mothers. She hence started a campaign and today we celebrate third Sunday of June as Father’s Day.
In India everybody celebrates Father’s Day in their own ways. In a country of such a rich tradition where fathers are revered and respected more than God, Father’s Day holds a special place in every Indian son and daughter’s heart.
We have already looked at the best fathers that the Bollywood movies have given us here. It is time for us to look at how Bollywood celebrities have paid their respect and honoured their fathers on Twitter.
